First time it actually worked!
Yolk isn’t as runny as I would have liked but still nice and poached.

Chef status: 2 Michelin Stars.
(For real, though, getting poached eggs right can be tricky, but is so worth it...)

I can make the best damned burger you’ll ever have. My ribs have the perfect smoke and always fall off the bone. I can pull an alfredo out of my ass that puts Maggiano’s to shame. My chili has won awards. Many of them.
But I cannot, for the life of me, poach a goddamned egg.

It’s my favorite kind of egg. I love a good runny yolk.
Soft boiled is my second favorite.
I eat hard boiled mostly because they’re like 60 cents at my university breakfast table.

Now you have to make an hollandaise sause to finish the Benedict, prepare your wrists, there’s a lot of whisking involved... I promise its worth it!

Dangit. Now I’m hungry. Time to break another batch of tamales out of the freezer.

Years ago, I bought a microwave poacher. It's great because you just do 30 seconds, then just add 8-10 seconds incrementally until perfect. Best success I've ever had. But that was back when I ate eggs for enjoyment...I find them completely repulsive now :D
